Driver App · Rider App · Website
1. Introduction
METI LLC (შპს მეტი) ("METI," "we," "us," or "our") operates the METI taxi platform through the METI Rider App, METI Driver App, the website at meti.taxi, and related support channels (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, retain, and delete personal data when you use the Platform.
By downloading, accessing, or using the Platform, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Platform.
2. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to riders, drivers, website visitors, customer support contacts, referral participants, and any other individuals whose personal data we process in connection with the Platform.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect your full name, phone number, email address, profile photo, saved places, ride details, ratings, reviews, support messages, and referral information.
Driver-specific information
We may collect vehicle details, driver's license information, vehicle registration, insurance documents, subscription billing details, and bank or payout details needed to enable driver participation and payouts.
Payment information
Rider card payments and certain payment credentials are processed by our payment and banking partners. We do not store complete payment card numbers on our own systems.
Information collected automatically
We may collect device model, operating system, app version, device identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, log data, crash reports, usage analytics, network type, and push-notification tokens.
Communications and support
If you contact support or communicate through the Platform, we may collect the content of those communications and related metadata.
Verification and safety information
We may collect identity-verification data, fraud-prevention signals, complaint information, safety reports, and records needed to investigate platform misuse or incidents.
Optional information
Some features may allow you to upload additional information voluntarily, such as profile images, promotional preferences, or survey responses.
4. Precise location data
For riders. We collect a rider's precise GPS location while the rider is actively using the app to request a ride, confirm a pickup point, track an assigned driver, or complete an active ride. We do not intentionally track riders in the background when they are not actively using the ride flow.
For drivers. We collect a driver's precise GPS location while the driver is marked Online, traveling to a pickup, or completing an active ride. This allows real-time matching, ETA calculation, trip tracking, safety monitoring, and dispute resolution.
How we use location. We use precise location data to match riders and drivers, calculate ETAs and fares, display live trip progress, verify service delivery, improve marketplace coverage, detect misuse, and investigate safety or fraud issues.
Retention. Operational trip and route data may be retained for a limited period for safety, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, and service improvement. Aggregated or de-identified location analytics may be retained longer.
Your controls. You can manage location permissions in your device settings. However, if you deny required location access, major Platform features may not work.
5. How we use personal data
We use personal data to create and manage accounts, verify identity, match riders with drivers, facilitate transportation services, process subscription billing and ride payments, provide customer support, personalize the Platform, communicate with users, analyze Platform performance, improve routing and matching, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud, protect safety, comply with law, and maintain the security and reliability of the Platform.
We may also use data for marketing, referrals, and product updates where permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time.
6. How we share personal data
Between riders and drivers
To enable a trip, riders and drivers may see limited information about each other, such as first name, profile photo, vehicle details, rating, pickup or drop-off details, and live trip progress where applicable.
Service providers
We may share data with vendors and partners that help us operate the Platform, including hosting providers, database and infrastructure providers, analytics and error-monitoring providers, SMS/OTP providers, notification services, maps and routing providers, customer-support tools, and banking or payment partners.
Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, regulatory request, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of METI, our users, or the public.
Business transfers
If METI is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, asset sale, or similar transaction, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
No sale of personal data
METI does not sell personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes and does not operate as a data broker.
7. Legal bases for processing
If you are located in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing, we generally process personal data on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, legitimate interests such as safety, fraud prevention, and platform security, and consent where required.
8. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including account administration, trip history, safety and fraud investigations, regulatory compliance, accounting, tax, dispute resolution, and enforcement of our agreements.
Retention periods may vary by data category. For example, some ride records, payout records, tax records, complaint records, or identity-verification records may need to be retained longer than ordinary account data because of legal or operational obligations.
9. Account deletion and data deletion requests
In-app deletion path. Users who create an account must be able to initiate account deletion from within the app.
Web deletion path. Users may also request account deletion through the website at meti.taxi/delete-account.
Support deletion path. Users may submit deletion requests by emailing apps@meti.taxi.
What happens after a request. Once a valid deletion request is confirmed, the account will be deactivated and personal data will be deleted or irreversibly anonymized within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required or reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, unresolved disputes, safety investigations, or other legitimate obligations.
What may be retained. Even after deletion, we may retain limited records that are required by tax, accounting, regulatory, fraud-prevention, payment, chargeback, insurance, or legal obligations.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, object to, or port certain personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may manage certain permissions, such as location and push notifications, through your device settings. You may opt out of marketing messages by using the unsubscribe tools provided or by contacting us.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We may also deny or limit requests where permitted by law.
11. Children's privacy
The Platform is not intended for children. Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Platform. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, authentication protections, monitoring, and vendor-security controls.
However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
13. International transfers
Your data may be processed in Georgia and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.
14. Third-party services
The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party services such as payment providers, navigation tools, maps, or communication services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the 'Last Updated' date. If we make material changes, we may also notify users through the app, by email, or through the website.
